چکیده
With regard to the differences between soil particle size distribution (PSD) obtained by sieve-sedimentation methods (SSMs), e.g., sieve-pipette method (SPM) and laser diffraction (LDM), usually, clay fraction content in LDM measurements is lower than SSM. Two groups of reasons can be identified for this. Firstly, resulting from features themselves. Secondly, sample preparation (after sampling) pretreatment (disaggregation). These not only cause difficulties PSDs comparability but also make it difficult, sometimes even impossible, apply results texture classification. The solution this difficulty may use pedotransfer functions standardization measurement procedures. aim work was validate function proposed Makó et al. (2017) on a Polish physics database recalculating compare them with SPM assess how influenced PSD Using function, 74 % accuracy achieved, which comparable other reported literature. Comparing found literature after sampling (analysis fresh, air dry oven-dried – 105 °C soil) before (breaking aggregates chemically physically) allows recommending conducting using soils ultrasound disaggregation.

Adequacy of laser diffraction for soil particle size analysis
Sedimentation has been a standard methodology for particle size analysis since the early 1900s. In recent years laser diffraction is beginning to replace sedimentation as the prefered technique in some industries, such as marine sediment analysis. However, for the particle size analysis of soils, which have a diverse range of both particle size and shape, laser diffraction still requires evalua...
متن کاملCritical Evaluation of Particle Size Distribution Models Using Soil Data Obtained with a Laser Diffraction Method
Mathematical descriptions of classical particle size distribution (PSD) data are often used to estimate soil hydraulic properties. Laser diffraction methods (LDM) now provide more detailed PSD measurements, but deriving a function to characterize the entire range of particle sizes is a major challenge. The aim of this study was to compare the performance of eighteen PSD functions for fitting LD...
متن کاملMeasuring Particle Size Distribution Using Laser Diffraction: Implications for Predicting Soil Hydraulic Properties
Methods to predict soil hydraulic properties frequently require information on the particle size distribution (PSD). The objectives of this study were to investigate various protocols for rapidly measuring PSD using the laser diffraction technique, compare the obtained PSD with those determined using the traditional hydrometer-and-sieves method (HSM), and assess the accuracy of soil hydraulic p...

The classification of fuzzy uncertain data is considered one of the most challenging issues in data analysis. In spite of the significance of fuzzy data in mathematical programming, the development of the analytical methods of fuzzy data is slow. Therefore, the current study proposes a new fuzzy data classification method based on fuzzy data envelopment analysis (DEA) which can handle strea...
